The Running Man November 17, 2025

It is weird to say this, but despite being a bookworm, I have not read a lot of Stephen King. However, I did see a lot of the movies based on King's books, and a lot of them were good. That said, a lot of people are split on the remake of The Running Man, but I enjoyed it. I have only seen parts of the one that was made in 1987, but it was entertaining enough. The new one, however, had a story we can relate to now with media manipulation. The way the producer Josh Brolin played showed the viewers things that did not happen, making them think they were under tyranny, especially the way he only told Glen Powell things to infuriate him. I feel that is relevant now because it could happen if we keep electing leaders that only want power and never yield to the people that serve them. Predator: Badlands November 10, 2025

Though the first Predator movie is still the best, Badlands was a damn good time. Elle Fanning was fun as the robot that tried to negotiate with the predator, seeing its humanity. Other than that, the action was fun to watch, showing you don't always need a gripping story to entertain people. They set up a sequel that would also looks fun, and it is possible Arnold Schwarzenegger will return.  If you are interested in reading books from independent authors that would make good movies, click on the link.  Smashwords.com

Bugonia November 3, 2025

The new movie Bugonia had nothing that original in it, but it was written and directed to where it's twist ending would surprise people. One of the things that led to it was Emma Stone's performance, and it eventually looked like she was only telling the conspiracy theorists who kidnapped her she really was an alien, so she could escape and inform the authorities. I'm sure a few people picked it up early on, but for me I realized it when she ran out of the ambulance. I can do without Stone killing all humans on Earth at the end, however, maybe somewhere in the story she can revive them all with no prior knowledge, but that is only my wishful thinking.
