Dune Part II March 3, 2024
Though I only read the first Dune novel, I liked the movie that came out in 2021, and looked forward to the next one. I was not disappointed and was blown away by the increase in action. It was still a little slow to start but did not leave you bored waiting for it. Chirstopher Walken was fun as the emperor like he always is. Austin Butler gave a thrilling performance as Baron Harkonnen's nephew, and his fight with Paul Attreides was a highlight, just like the battle using the sandworms. The other newcomers, such as Lea Seydeox and Florence Pugh did their job well. I heard the Hallelujah song when Josh Brolin returned as Gurney Halleck, my favorite character. Though I only read the first book by Frank Herbert, I look forward to seeing where they go with that series in the future, and seeing if Paul and Chani can work things out and see if the action is more thrilling next time. Whatever they do, and whichever books they adapt, and if they have to make the rest of the saga a TV series, I look forward to it. Also, I would love to see my work adapted to the screen, and if you are interested in reading it, click on the link provided. smashwords.com
