Horizon: An American Sag: Chapter 1. July 1, 2024

I have always liked Western movies, due to a family legacy because if there is anyone in my family who loves Westerns more than I do it is my dad and my brother. Despite that, that is a genre that has in many ways inspired my writing, but I am getting off track. I opened with that statement because the first part of Kevin Costner's epic Western saga, Horizon, was a thrilling start. It shows how in the late 1800s Americans moving west did not want to fight with indigenous people and just live their lives the same as they did. There were some Natives who thought settlers were taking their homes and refused to compromise, and because of their raids, they thought they were trying to keep them from prospering. There were people on both sides, who did not want war, the same as the people that exceeded the conflict. It shows the political arguing going on today is nothing new, it has happened since the Roman Empire, and what none of those people can realize is conflicts can be avoided not be fighting over what we disagree about but working together because of what we have in common. There is also a thrilling sneak preview at the next chapter before the credits roll.   Prior to the Barbie movie, most films based on classic toys were criticized the instant they were announced, but that is not what I am talking about. When I heard that Paramount was planning to make live action G.I. Joe movies, I was excited because they were my favorite childhood toys, and I still collect them as a hobby for sentimental reasons. On the new Snow White movie February 24, 2025

 Practically everything on YouTube is about the disdain the new live-action Snow White movie has, the same way the general public is getting tired of Disney's live action remakes. It is either the A.I. and C.G. on the Dwarves, and what Peter Dinklage said about the Dwarves in the original being incorrect. If not that, it is Rachel Zegler insulting the original, saying it is about a prince stalking a princess, and not understanding the original was about dismissing reality for hope, because it was made during the Great Depression, and it was what people needed to escape the turmoil they were in.  I think the main reason for the backlash it instantly received was the way Disney is trying too hard to over correct what did not age well in their past movies. I think Zegler meant they were trying to update the prince and princess's relationship in the original, and it did not work with how she phrased it. Flight Risk. January 27, 2025

 Flight Risk had a pretty simple premise but was still entertaining. One could quickly catch on that the pilot Mark Wahlberg played was working for the Mafia, in fact it was given away in the trailers. There was more to catch onto, such as the U.S. Marshall being associated with the Mob, but it was still entertaining. The main thing to think about is the Marshall's superiors being allied with criminals, which is something we really need to consider in Washington.
