I was not a huge fan of the original Twister, but I enjoyed it when I saw it in the theater, and if I was staying in a hotel and it was on TV I would watch it. I will say the same about its sequel, which took almost thirty years to develop, and features no characters or even references to the last one. That does not mean it was terrible, because the parts where they were storm chasing were fun to watch. A lot of what happened was as you would expect, and similar to the original. The person that cared more about money and TV ratings was left behind, and they started working on protecting people from the disaster of tornadoes.
The only thing left, and I am not saying it was a bad movie because of that, is Hollywood should start adapting more original stories, or stories based off of books that have not been made into movies yet. I know a lot of people now like to see something they are familiar with, but there are many of them interested in variety.
