On the new Snow White movie February 24, 2025
Practically everything on YouTube is about the disdain the new live-action Snow White movie has, the same way the general public is getting tired of Disney's live action remakes. It is either the A.I. and C.G. on the Dwarves, and what Peter Dinklage said about the Dwarves in the original being incorrect. If not that, it is Rachel Zegler insulting the original, saying it is about a prince stalking a princess, and not understanding the original was about dismissing reality for hope, because it was made during the Great Depression, and it was what people needed to escape the turmoil they were in.
I think the main reason for the backlash it instantly received was the way Disney is trying too hard to over correct what did not age well in their past movies. I think Zegler meant they were trying to update the prince and princess's relationship in the original, and it did not work with how she phrased it. I have only seen it once, because when it comes to the animated Disney movies seeing them once is enough, and I can always tell from the trailers what is going to happen in them, but that doesn't mean I hate them, because I don't. I think if they would like to remake their old movies, they should be more faithful to the source material, and earn their PG, PG-13, and even R-ratings. As for the Snow White one, I am almost tempted to go see it, just to see if anyone else attends, but I won't because I know I do not need to, and in addition, there is another live action Snow White movie I enjoyed. In 2012, we got Snow White and the Huntsman, which is not groundbreaking, but entertaining with action, and has some funny moments. I wore all this because I am a novelist eager to find readers interested in reading my books, and if you are interested in them, you can click on the link. Smashwords.com
