Mickey 17 March 10, 2025

I think we are getting close to a time where standalone movies, where the people who make them put real effort and passion into them, are coming, particularly with the story. That is good, but we can use a compelling story with action, and despite that, Mickey 17 was a good movie. It had a creative premise, though the action was minimal. It had some nice commentary on modern politics, in Mark Ruffalo's character, being a corrupt politician who lost his bid for reelection and was trying to use animals on a foreign planet for scientific research. In Robert Pattinson's story arc, it was commentary on why you should listen to and get the picture of what particular job opportunities are, now that the internet is an A.I. false information cesspool, and he had no idea only signed up to die repeatedly.
