Suzanne Collins latest prequel to The Hunger Games centered on Haymitch Abernathy, and how he won the Second Quarter Quell, and what led to his alcoholic depression. He started off well meaning, only wanting to support his family, especially his brother, Sid, and only wound up in the Games because a kid that was reaped during the games was killed trying to escape. Because there were twice as many Tributes that year, Haymitch feared he would have to kill his allies, and instead tried to defy the Capital, which Coriolanus Snow monitored, and punished after the Games ended. Because he was the only living Victor from District 12, Snow did whatever he could to make Haymitch depressed, and fear there was nothing he could do when he mentored the Tributes from his District. It explains his connection with Katniss Everdeen, having been friends with her father, Burdock Everdeen, and his connection with Plutarch Heavensbee, and how with Katniss and Peeta's victory in the first novel, they started to lead to a rebellion.  Practically everything on YouTube is about the disdain the new live-action Snow White movie has, the same way the general public is getting tired of Disney's live action remakes. It is either the A.I. and C.G. on the Dwarves, and what Peter Dinklage said about the Dwarves in the original being incorrect. If not that, it is Rachel Zegler insulting the original, saying it is about a prince stalking a princess, and not understanding the original was about dismissing reality for hope, because it was made during the Great Depression, and it was what people needed to escape the turmoil they were in.  I think the main reason for the backlash it instantly received was the way Disney is trying too hard to over correct what did not age well in their past movies. I think Zegler meant they were trying to update the prince and princess's relationship in the original, and it did not work with how she phrased it.  Flight Risk had a pretty simple premise but was still entertaining. One could quickly catch on that the pilot Mark Wahlberg played was working for the Mafia, in fact it was given away in the trailers. There was more to catch onto, such as the U.S. Marshall being associated with the Mob, but it was still entertaining. The main thing to think about is the Marshall's superiors being allied with criminals, which is something we really need to consider in Washington. How G.I. Joe: Retaliation ahead of its time. March 4, 2025

  Prior to the Barbie movie, most films based on classic toys were criticized the instant they were announced, but that is not what I am talking about. When I heard that Paramount was planning to make live action G.I. Joe movies, I was excited because they were my favorite childhood toys, and I still collect them as a hobby for sentimental reasons. I had colleagues when at Kroger who often told me it might be good, and they were mostly teenagers who did not know any better.  Case in point, I enjoyed the first one, Rise of Cobra, as nothing groundbreaking but a fun way to spend time, which is what a movie is meant to be, and the same for the solo Snake Eyes one. However, the one I am talking about now is the second movie, Retaliation. It not only featured Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who is always fun no matter what, and Bruce Willis, who reminded me of Die Hard, it also stuck to something a sequel should do and in some way was a head of its time.
