 Near the end of May, I always watch Lord of the Rings, in honor of the Tennessee Renaissance Festival, and after two months watching movies associated with summer and beaches, I go back to watching it each month in August, close to my birthday. I have said this several times on Facebook, and I do not remember writing a blog about this, but this is something I feel like I should say now. I will say nothing about the current presidential administration but will provide advice about the next election. In 2028, both the Democrats and the Republicans need to nominate candidates who lead like Aragorn. I am not saying that because he is my favorite character in my favorite book and movie, and my favorite fictional character period, but because out of all leaders, he earned his authority. What I mean by that is quite simple, he shows authority without cruelty, he supports and encourages people, and despite his power and birthright, he displays humility.

 Practically everything on YouTube is about the disdain the new live-action Snow White movie has, the same way the general public is getting tired of Disney's live action remakes. It is either the A.I. and C.G. on the Dwarves, and what Peter Dinklage said about the Dwarves in the original being incorrect. If not that, it is Rachel Zegler insulting the original, saying it is about a prince stalking a princess, and not understanding the original was about dismissing reality for hope, because it was made during the Great Depression, and it was what people needed to escape the turmoil they were in.  I think the main reason for the backlash it instantly received was the way Disney is trying too hard to over correct what did not age well in their past movies. I think Zegler meant they were trying to update the prince and princess's relationship in the original, and it did not work with how she phrased it. Flight Risk. January 27, 2025

 Flight Risk had a pretty simple premise but was still entertaining. One could quickly catch on that the pilot Mark Wahlberg played was working for the Mafia, in fact it was given away in the trailers. There was more to catch onto, such as the U.S. Marshall being associated with the Mob, but it was still entertaining. The main thing to think about is the Marshall's superiors being allied with criminals, which is something we really need to consider in Washington. How G.I. Joe: Retaliation ahead of its time. March 4, 2025

  Prior to the Barbie movie, most films based on classic toys were criticized the instant they were announced, but that is not what I am talking about. When I heard that Paramount was planning to make live action G.I. Joe movies, I was excited because they were my favorite childhood toys, and I still collect them as a hobby for sentimental reasons. I had colleagues when at Kroger who often told me it might be good, and they were mostly teenagers who did not know any better.  Case in point, I enjoyed the first one, Rise of Cobra, as nothing groundbreaking but a fun way to spend time, which is what a movie is meant to be, and the same for the solo Snake Eyes one. However, the one I am talking about now is the second movie, Retaliation.
