 I remember liking the 1997 version of Anaconda OK, and I felt the same about the new one. The performances were funny, and there was some nice commentary on how nothing in Hollywood is original, and there were jokes about how movies are made today.  When the first Avatar movie came out in 2009, I could tell from the trailer where the story was going to go, and it was the same with the two that followed. Like the first movie and Way of Water, Ash and Fire had very cool visuals and action scenes, which always kept the main characters in view, and then they talk. There were no surprises in it, though it was fun to see a film like that in the theater. It is clear a lot of people like those movies and let the generic stories slide, but I have a feeling that movies that tell stories that resonate with people and have more charismatic characters are slowly making a comeback, and I look forward to them. There are a lot of controversies among conservatives about modern movies, but the way things are going I believe the magic about them will return, and they will look and feel like them again.  Most critics panned the first Five Nights at Freddy's movie, but many audiences enjoyed it, despite not being great, and I felt the same way. The situation is similar with the new one, and I found it quite entertaining. I am not surprised when somebody says they don't like it, but I enjoyed the scenes with the robot monsters, especially mixing practical effects with CG. They are obviously planning another sequel, and I am OK with that.  That is a movie, clearly intended for people who like those games and comics, which I never read or played.  I don't remember much about the other two Now You See Me movies, but they were entertaining, and I felt the same as the new one. Like in the other ones it was cool how they showed how the tricks were done, and the way they stood up for the average person, which is much needed now.
