 For those of you who do not know me, my name is Ethan Parke. I am a novelist and merchandise runner for Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee and an avid bicyclist and am looking to find people interested in reading my books and enjoying them.

My latest book is called The Penitent Warrior, and it tells the story of how Jack Stamper, a thirteen-year-old aspiring hard rock musician struggling with Asperger syndrome whose life of being belittled despite having friends changes after his girlfriend is murdered by The Dark Warlord Janus. Assisted by the members of his band, The Spectres, Jack becomes the commanding general of the Fourth Covert Militia, established by the Pentagon combat Lord Janus and his nexus of allies that are creating anarchy across the globe. 

Counter parts for the Militias are soon established in other countries, and Juliana Lovasky, another musically talented teenager living in Yekaterinburg, Russia, and struggling with dyslexia has her life turned around when Janus and his henchmen murder her boyfriend. Juliana then enlists in Russia's Covert Milia counterpart, The Hidden Spetznaz, but is haunted by dreams of Jack and his men betraying her, unaware it is Janus's dark sorcery to prevent them from uniting and stopping his ultimate goal of chaos and violence.  

This book is as emotionally powerful as it is suspenseful and thrilling, with the action making the reader eager to see what happens, because they will feel like they are witnessing it first hand.

  I have already written my own personal review of my latest novel, The Primal Realm, but this is a short blog about what the parallel world the title refers to is like. It is a primitive world where every animal that ever existed on Earth thrives. The land they see is partly desert and rainforest, which is why the people who live there call it the Desert Jungle. That includes extinct ones, such as dinosaurs. How Westerns influenced me. August 13, 2024

 Westerns are my dad's favorite kind of movie, and thus I grew up watching a lot of them. They had more of a grip on my brother, because when we were kids, he always wanted to play adventure games that took place in the western United States between the years 1865 to 1895. Though I liked Westerns, I more often wanted to play games that took place in the present, so I could use vehicles, and he we always argued about it. I tried compromising but he never agreed about anything. I already wrote a little about it, and though that also gave me inspiration for books, I will talk about how the Western genre inspired me.  Westerns are a good genre for visual storytelling and for contrasting characters, and for making the setting be practically a character. They can help you get to know the characters as the story progresses, and have characters discover humanity as they go. A lot of Westerns have music that befits what is happening and songs that often contrast or match the situation....
