The Jack Ryan movies March 12, 2024

I did not read a lot of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan novels, but I enjoy the movies based on them. The Hunt for Red October was a fun start, starring Alec Baldwin, and though it did not have as much action as one would expect, it was an intriguing story of compromise. My favorites, however, were the ones that starred Harrison Ford. Patriot Games was a thrilling story of the folly of revenge. Sean Bean played Sean Miller as a vengeful sociopath who lost all his redeeming qualities when Jack killed his brother. Love for his brother was probably the only humanity Miller had. Clear and Present Danger was also fun, being about the government's lies, something ahead of its time in 1994. We should not see things as black and white but right and wrong. The Sum of All Fears had some fun action but was confusing about the time in which it took place and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit was fun while I watched it, and then forgotten.
